Is Upper Cervical Care Right for Me?

Upper cervical care isn’t for everyone — but for the right person, it can be the missing piece.

Upper cervical care is a specialized approach, and the honest answer is that it isn’t the right fit for everyone. But for a specific kind of person — often someone who has been many places without answers — it can be the piece that’s been missing. Here’s how to think about whether it’s worth exploring for you.

Who it tends to help

Many of our patients come to us with chronic, neurological-type problems that haven’t responded to the usual care: migraines and headaches, vertigo and dizziness, POTS and dysautonomia, post-concussion symptoms, brain fog, and long-standing neck issues. What they share is a nervous system that seems stuck in a stress pattern.

Signs it may be worth exploring

A few patterns make us think the upper neck is worth a close look: symptoms that started after a car accident, fall, sports injury, or concussion (sometimes years earlier); imaging and lab work that keep coming back “normal” while you still feel unwell; and a problem that moves around or resists every treatment aimed only at the symptom.

When it’s not the answer

We don’t take every case. If your situation calls for medical work-up, imaging for pathology, or care outside our scope, we’ll say so and help you get to the right provider. Being honest about who we can and can’t help is part of doing this well.

How we decide

We don’t ask you to take it on faith. A thorough evaluation of your upper neck and nervous system tells us whether a correction is likely to help — and we share those findings with you plainly before any care begins.

Common Questions

Is it right for me — common questions

Do I need a referral to be seen?

No referral is needed. You can schedule an evaluation directly, and we’ll tell you honestly whether upper cervical care is a fit.

Is upper cervical care safe?

The correction is gentle and specific, without forceful twisting or popping. As with any care, we evaluate first and only proceed when it’s appropriate for you.

What if I’ve had neck surgery or another condition?

Let us know — it’s exactly the kind of thing we screen for during your evaluation. In some cases we’ll adapt our approach; in others we’ll refer you to the right provider.

How do I know if my atlas is misaligned?

You often can’t feel it directly — that’s why we use a focused exam and precise imaging of the upper neck rather than guessing.
