Why does my back hurt less after a neck correction?
Because much of what hurt was the workaround, not the problem. When the atlas carries your head off-center, everything beneath adapts. The spine curves to keep your eyes level, one shoulder rides high, one side of the low back braces every waking hour. Years of that builds an ache that seems to have an obvious local cause, except that treating it locally never works. Correct the top and the whole arrangement becomes unnecessary. The bracing lets go, and the neck pain, shoulder tension, and low back strain it produced go with it, on their own schedule. Which is also the honest answer to the soreness question: tissues that spent years adapted to crooked take a few days to adapt back. It's the ache of things settling into a new position, and it passes.
What does the nervous system have to do with healing?
Quite a lot, and it's the part of Clark's explanation people underrate. Repair is not a local event. Immune activity, tissue rebuilding, organ regulation, all of it runs on nerve signaling coordinated through the brain stem. Interference at that level doesn't cause one symptom; it degrades coordination across the board, which is why patients under care report improvements nobody promised them.
